About Suzy
Suzy works with adults and couples with challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and relationship difficulties. She has a particular interest in helping clients build more peaceful relationships with food and their bodies.
She approaches therapy as a collaborative process, and strives to create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and able to speak openly and without judgment. Her style is direct, practical, and down-to-earth—she’ll gently challenge patterns that aren’t serving you when needed, while also offering warmth and support with change.
Suzy draws on a range of tools from her training to best fit clients’ needs and preferences. Her work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps clients understand and shift unhelpful thought and behavior patterns. She also incorporates mindfulness, self-compassion, acceptance-based therapies, and emotion regulation skills to support lasting change. She has additional training in working with couples, including Emotion Focused Therapy and Gottman Method (Level 1).
She completed her undergraduate training in psychology at Mount Saint Vincent University and holds a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Acadia University.
